When Your Payment is Late
AUB has to purchase the power, water, and gas that you use at your home or business long before you use it. Therefore, we need your payment on or before the due date on your bill so that we can re-invest back into the utility to keep business going smooth. After the due date, a late-payment fee is applied. If a bill has not been paid by 5 days after the due date, it may be necessary to discontinue service, because we just cant keep absorbing the cost of the product without being paid for it.
Overdue-Payment Fees and Notices
Each month, we print and mail overdue-payment notices after all payments have been processed on the date due. If you get a notice, regard it as a reminder that your bill is due and needs to be paid within five days of the date printed at the top of the notice. Weekends and holidays are counted as part of this five-day grace period.
If payment has not been received within this time, it will be necessary to initiate the disconnection procedure, which ultimately could lead to service being turned off. Nobody wants this to happen, but we are in a tough position if a customer has used the product we sell and is not paying for it.
