Service Charges and Deposits
Service Charges - Residential
Upon applying for services, there is a $15.00 service fee for each service-power,
natural gas, water, and wastewater. For instance, for a customer applying for
power only, the total service charge will be $15.00. For a customer applying
for power and natural gas, the total would be $30.00, and so on. This fee is
not refundable.
Deposits - Residential
Deposit Frequently Asked Questions.
Beginning October 1, 2001, AUB instituted a deposit system intended to reduce
financial write offs we have when customers leave the system without paying
their bills, which in turn affects all ratepayers. Deposits can be waived
for applicants who have never been on the AUB system if they have a good letter
of credit from their most recent utilities provider. For applicants who are or
have been AUB customers, deposits can be waived if the applicant has 1) a history
with AUB showing on-time full payments for the immediate past 12 consecutive
months that they had AUB service, and 2) a letter of credit from their most
recent utilities provider (if returning to the AUB system from another utilities
system).
For customers who are required to pay a deposit: After 12 consecutive months
of on-time full payments for all AUB utilities services, your deposit-with
interest-will be credited to your account.
