Interruptible Power Options Variable Price Interruptible (VPI)
High-usage industrial customers may want to consider AUBs interruptible
rate product, called Variable Price Interruptible, or VPI. It could yield
significant power cost savings. But, please consider all factors in making
a decision to go with this option. While it can offer the up side of cost
savings, it also presents risks that must be weighed, such as the possibility
of service disruptions in your normal operations.
VPI is available for customers with demands over 5,000 kW. There are
three primary options for low-cost interruptible power-VPI Option A, B and C:
Option A: This is the 50/5 choice. Customers may take
50-percent of their total power requirements as VPI and are subject to
interruption on five minutes notice.
Option B: The 100/5 choice. Customers may take 100-percent
of their total power requirements as VPI and are subject to interruption on
five minutes notice.
Option C: The 100/60 choice. Customers may take 100% of
their total power requirements as VPI and are subject to interruption on 60
minutes notice.
Additional sub-options also are available to better match individual
customers unique power requirements. The price for VPI energy is based on
TVAs estimated hourly cost plus a markup that is dependent on the chosen
option. The VPI demand charge is $1.21. There is a connection fee of $1075.00
