AUB Power Division Work Requires Planned Outage

ATHENS, Tenn. – Athens Utilities Board (AUB) is alerting approximately 132 customers of a planned power outage occurring this Thursday evening, July 25, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The outage will affect customers in the area of Million Street, Kenneth Street, Load Street, Load Drive, Hamby Street, Hilltop Drive, some isolated accounts on Congress Parkway, and County Roads 176, 177, and 178.

During the overnight work, AUB crews will replace three rotten power poles and old copper wiring with newer, more robust power poles and lines.

AUB’s dispatch center and crewmembers have called the affected customers with plans to leave door hangers for notification at addresses with an out-of-date phone number.
