Power Safety
Electrical Power Can Kill! Be Safe.
- Downed power lines are serious business. They can be dangerous.
If you see a downed line, call AUB at 745-4501 immediately.
- Always assume that downed lines are "hot."
- Never touch a power line with your hand or any object.
If a power line falls across your vehicle while you're inside, do not get out.
Just sit tight and wait for help to arrive. If you must get out because of fire, jump
free rather than stepping out. Never touch the ground, or a conductive surface that's
in contact with the ground, and equipment that's in contact with a power line at the
same time.
