Tennessee Valley Authority Fuel Cost Adjustment

TVA calculates and applies the Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA) monthly as a charge to recover the costs of fuels used to generate electricity when those costs exceed what TVA budgeted. The FCA can also work in reverse - when TVA budgets more for fuel used to generate electricity than is actually spent, the FCA will be applied and subtracted from customers' bills.

The TVA board voted to start using the FCA as an effort to avoid using permanent rates hikes to offset temporary spikes in the cost of fuels used to generate electricity.

Click here to see the current FCA and how it affects your monthly bill.

Click on any of the links in the yellow box to the right to get more details on the FCA.
