AUB offers a variety of commercial/industrial rates: GSA, GSB, GSC, GSD, MSB, MSC, MSD. Seasonal rates within these categories are also available.
“GS”denotes General Services and applies to non-residential billing meters (well pumps/garages/outbuildings), to non-manufacturing commercial entities, such as churches, schools, restaurants, retail stores, etc., and to some manufacturers whose monthly demand is below 1000 kw.
“MS” denotes Manufacturing Services. The differentiation between the GS and MS classes is determined by the entity's Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code. Commercial rate qualification is determined by the customer's kilowatt (kw) demand.
- The GSA rate is for commercial accounts with demand from 0 to 5,000 kw and has three categories based on demand/energy profile.
- GSB/MSB are for commercial/manufacturing accounts with demand between 5,001 kw and 15,000kw.
- GSC/MSC are for accounts with demand between 15,001 kw and 25,000 kw.
- GSD/MSD is for those above 25,000 kw.
Seasonal and Time-of-Use Terminology
Where applicable in the rate classes shown below, the following terms are defined as follows:
- Summer months: June - September
- Winter months: December - March
- Transition months: April/May and Oct/Nov
On Peak/Off Peak/Max Peak
November through March
- On-peak hours are Monday - Friday 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. Eastern Prevailing Time (EPT)
April through October
- On-peak hours are Monday - Friday 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Prevailing Time (EPT)
“Max Peak” refers to the higher of off-peak billing demand or on-peak billing demand.
All hours not designated as on-peak are off-peak. When New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day fall on a weekday, they are considered an off-peak day.
When November 1 occurs on a weekday other than Monday, it is considered an off-peak day.
