AUB TEMPORARILY SUSPENDS CUSTOMER DISCONNECTION AND LATE FEES UNTIL APRIL 17; BILLS STILL ACCUMULATE, SO PLEASE PAY
Athens, TN - At AUB, we are committed to providing safe and reliable services to our community. We understand that those services are crucial to the well-being of individuals and businesses in our area.
As of April 1, 2020, we are temporarily suspending until April 17 disconnections for customers experiencing financial hardship by the coronavirus (COVID-19) threat.
Per this move, we will eliminate late fees for non-payment.
Unfortunately, while we can temporarily suspend disconnections, we must still eventually collect for all power, water, wastewater or natural gas that has been paid for by the utility and consumed by customers, so we still need customers to pay for what they have used.
We will continue to leave reminder notes on past-due accounts per regulatory requirements but will not disconnect services during this timeframe.
Normal collection activities and fees will resume on Monday, April 20, 2020. While services will not be disconnected during this period, utility bills will continue to accrue. We encourage customers to make payments on time when at all possible.
As a part of the ongoing effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19, we have closed the AUB office to the public and are asking customers to please conduct business with AUB remotely or via the drive-through window.
We have set up additional resources to take payments over the phone. You may also pay online in addition to using our drive-through window and depository.
If you are under financial hardship, please call our offices before your normal due date in order to make a pay agreement.
As always, please call us at (423)-745-4501, or visit aub.org, to learn more about payment options and assistance.
