LOWER LOCAL POWER RATES CONTINUE INTO SPRING

ATHENS, Tenn. – Local electric power rates will fall a bit more in May as the spring rate season brings lower fuel charges from TVA.

The AUB residential power rate for May will be $0.08407 per kilowatt hour compared to April’s rate of $0.08422.

May is a “transition rate” month along with April—as well as October and November—and has the lowest base rate of the year set at $0.06917.

The fuel charge for May is $0.01490 compared with $0.01505 in April.

About 83 cents of every dollar that AUB’s power division collects goes to TVA for wholesale power.
