AUB HAS A NEW IVR NUMBER FOR MAKING PHONE PAYMENTS

ATHENS, Tenn. – Athens Utilities Board (AUB) has a new Interactive Voice Response (IVR) number that customers can use to make bill payments over the phone.

That number is 888-643-1081.

When using the new IVR number, AUB customers will begin by entering the first six numbers of their new AUB account number.

“The new account number is six numbers, a hyphen, then another six numbers.   You would use just the first six numbers to begin with the new IVR,” said AUB’s Wayne Scarbrough.  “From there it is self-explanatory.”

With the new IVR number, an AUB customer can pay via debit card, credit card, and now by means of an electronic check using the check routing number.

AUB recently began using a new computer system and customer account system.

“We are all getting used to it, because there are some major changes versus the old system that we relied on for more than 25 years,” Scarbrough said.

“Most of all, we realize that our customers will need to get used to using the new system as well, and we are prepared to work with them through it all.”
